The Intersection of Chalet Gardens Road with North Bound Verona Road will permanently close Tuesday October 31st, 2017.

The City's Police and Fire Commission is asking for input from Fitchburg residents, community and business leaders, and city staff regarding the traits and characteristics they feel are most important when selecting the next Police Chief.

The pedestrian tunnel on Verona Road just north of Williamsburg Way will be closing November 1. This access to cross Verona Road will be shifted to an alternate route that utilizes the new crosswalk at Williamsburg Way and down the East Frontage Road.

The last yard waste pick up for the year ended on November 17. For those residents that still have yard waste to dispose of, we have an option for you.

Bring any non-working holiday light strings and extension cords to Fitchburg City Hall for recycling through January 31, 2017. A special cart is available 24 hours/day in the City Hall Lobby, 5520 Lacy Road.

There will be no trash or recycling pickup on Monday December 25th 2017, or Monday January 1st 2018.

Holiday tree collection will be conducted during the January 8th - 12th and January 22nd - 26th collection weeks. Please remove bags, lights, and stands from the trees and place them at the curb with the stump towards the road

Due to the warm and rainy weather, the ice skating rinks at McKee Farms Park and Huegel-Jamestown Park are closed until further notice.

The City of Fitchburg is pleased to announce the launch of the 2018 Community Development Grant Program

RENEW Wisconsin announced the availability of solar grants for nonprofits organizations and faith communities through their Solar for Good program. A total of $115,000 will be awarded and grants are due on April 9th at 5:00 p.m.

The first brush and yard waste collection of the season is coming.

The upcoming brush collection starts April 23th.

Open Book will begin on May 2nd and will go through May 16th. Weekday hours 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Property owners who have questions regarding their assessments can make an appointment with the assessor's office at City Hall by calling 270-4235.

On Wednesday, April 11, Metro Transit and the City of Madison Transit and Parking Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. to discuss proposed updates to Metro routes that would go into effect in August. Routes 52 and 59 would effect Fitchburg.
